How do I respond to a Chrome Web Store review from a user from an official support account?

I am looking to respond to user reviews in the Chrome Web Store for my extension and currently, the responses show my personal name and not the extension name and "Support".  Is there a way to get " 'Extension Name' Support" as the responder?   Or do I just set up a separate Google Account with that name?  Allowing anyone to act as an imposter seems like a bad idea on CWS's part but I don't see anything that seems to serve that function otherwise.

Hi there,

Most developers do that by creating a separate Google account with that "support" or "help" name.

Thanks,

Could you please give me more details on how to do this? I have a separate account, but I don't understand how to make it so that I can reply to reviews from it. Do I understand correctly that it should have been added to the publishing group? I added it, but nothing changed. At the same time, when I created the publishing group, extensions were not displayed in it. They were displayed under the original publisher, although the publishing group was linked to it. Or did I need to register a second account as a developer account as well, paying a fee of $5? And if I stupidly deleted the publishing group (I thought there was no point in it, since there were no extensions in it), and then found out that I can't create a new one, since there is a lifetime quota for them, then I will no longer be able to reply to reviews from another account?

Hi,

I believe you do need to have the support account registered as a developer and added to a group publisher with access to the extension.

If you have any issues here, you will always be able to reply from the original account which should be a member of the group publisher too.

I've already deleted the publisher group, so now I can't reply from the support account? And what do you mean by "access to the extension"? That these extensions were originally supposed to be published under the publishing group? I published them before the publishing group was created, from a personal account (it seems to have a "personal" publisher or something like that attached to it). And the extensions were in the list of extensions of the personal publisher, but in the list of extensions of the publishing group, they were not. Does this mean that even if I registered a second account as a developer account, I still wouldn't be able to reply to reviews?

I'm a little confused about where the extension currently lives.

As you mention, you have a self publisher by default. If the extension is in the list for this publisher, only you can reply to reviews.

Alternatively, you can move the extension to a group publisher. Once you've done this, any members of that group publisher who are registered as developers and have paid the $5 fee will be able to reply.

It isn't possible that your extension is in the group publisher and the group publisher has been deleted, as if the group publisher was deleted the extension would no longer be live.

If you need to create a new group publisher but have already reached your limit a good first step would be to open a case at https://support.google.com/chrome_webstore/contact/one_stop_support.

I hope that helps.
